At Strange Studios we design and build bespoke beautiful spaces. We often work with artists and musicians who have long dreamt of having a studio they can call their own, family’s who have always wanted a garden room or cosy cabin, as well as individuals who simply need a practical place to work from home.
From initial design and concept, we undertake or over see all works from foundations and electrics to plastereing and painting, as well as any internal works including storage solutions, work spaces, kitchenettes and Eco bathrooms. For music studios we also offer sound proofing and acoustic treatments.
Sustainability is important to us and many of our clients, so we also design and build with this in mind. We build with responsibly sourced materials, using both new and reclaimed wood and to limit the use of concrete and reduce waste we often use a ground screw foundation system. All our builds are fully insulated so they don’t waste energy when heating them in the winter, and we often install Living Green Roofs to encourage wildlife to continue to inhabit the plot of land we have built on below.
As well as studios and garden rooms we design and build bespoke pieces of furniture such as desks, cupboards and shelving units.
We are experienced in undertaking commercial projects including coffee shops, bars and shop fit-outs and have overseen the installation of large scale pop up venues such as festival bars and beer gardens.
Some companies, brands or venues that we have worked for include Look Mum No Hands (London), Finisterre (Covent Garden), The Southbank Centre(London), Le Coq Sportif (Covent Garden) New Breed Bottle Shop (London), MUG coffee shop (London), St Albans Wood Recycling Centre, 101 Outdoor Arts Centre (Newbury) and The Homestead Café (Beckenham) and in my home town The Hitchin Lavender Farm.
